The Town of Claremont’s Rights of Way (ROW) Strategy was adopted at the 27 October 2026 Ordinary Council Meeting.

The ROW Strategy provides the framework for the management of the Town’s 8.4km ROW network, which comprises of around 845 properties.

Valuing the feedback of residents, two iterations of the strategy were advertised for community consultation.

The first community consultation ran in April – May 2026 and included a 4-hour drop-in session which was attended by roughly 60 residents. Following this consultation, 98 submissions were received with feedback presented to Council at the 26 May 2026 Ordinary Council Meeting.

A second iteration was consulted with the community between June – July 2026 with an additional information session held. A further 20 residents attended the second information session

A total of 128 submissions were received across both consultation sessions, with a significant number of submissions supporting better maintenance, drainage and surface upgrades of the Right of Ways, and dedication for public use processes.

The Town took the submissions on board and updated the Strategy accordingly, resulting in its adoption.
