July school holidays 

Celebrate NAIDOC Week with a special story time with Ebony Froome, author of Djinang Bonar: Seeing Seasons. Come along to learn about the Noongar seasons and Noongar language. 

This event is suitable for children aged 3 - 10 years old. 

This is a free event but tickets are required.

Join local artist Kate to create a Minecraft style artwork. Using acrylic paints, kids aged 5 - 11 years will create their own characters and landscape, or customise an existing one from the game. Each child will have their own canvas to take home and keep. 

Each child will paint and take home their own 12 x 16 inch canvas to brighten up their walls. All equipment and materials are supplied, including aprons, but we encourage paint friendly clothing as acrylic paints do stain. Bookings are essential. 

When: Wednesday 8 July

Magic Dale's FUNtastic Family Show is super interactive with nonstop joy, laughter and magic. 

Perth's award-winning Magic Dale brings his high-energy, laugh-out loud family show to the Bay View Community Centre. Packed with illusions, mindreading, Rubik's cube magic and audience participation - he is sure to have you wowed and amazed! 

When: Thursday 9 July 

Time: 11am - 11:45am

Ages: Family friendly

Join us for a fun-filled craft session where kids can design their very own tote bag using fabric markers, gems and a variety of colourful decorations. 

When: Monday 13 July 

Time: 10am - 11am

Ages: Suitable for children aged 5+

Create a bold and colourful canvas using paint pens. This fun, hands-on activity lets kids design their own unique artwork to take home and show off.

Weekly Activities

The below activities take place weekly during school Term Time

Baby Rhyme Time

Giggle, coo and cuddle as we explore our favourite rhymes and songs! It’s never too early to ignite a love for reading and sharing stories. Our Baby Rhyme Time sessions help develop your child’s pre-literacy and social skills in a fun and engaging environment.

Come along to our sessions and share the delight of stories, songs and picture books.

For babies 0-18 months and their parents/carers.

When: Mondays (during school term)

Time: 9.30am - 10.30am

Story Time

Celebrate the special bond between children, parents, carers, guardians and grandparents with Story Time. 

When: Tuesdays (during school term)

Time: 9:30am - 10:30am

Crafternooners

Special craft activities for after school.

Suitable for all ages but we ask that children under 12 come with a parent/caregiver who remains at the centre for the duration of the activity.

Lego Club

Calling all Lego lovers, join us for an afternoon of creating!

Suitable for all ages but we ask that children under 12 come with a parent/caregiver who remains at the centre for the duration of the activity. 

No bookings required, walk-ins are welcome. 

When: Every Friday (during school term)

Time: 3.15pm - 4.15pm

Better Beginnings

Better Beginnings is a family literacy initiative from the State Library of Western Australia, designed to connect families with books through complimentary reading packs. The mission is to enhance literacy and learning outcomes for all children in WA.

Parents can pick up their free Better Beginnings reading packs at the Bay View Community Centre Library.

Better beginnings offer three tailored packs:

Each pack comes with engaging books, a bookmark, colourful stationery, and informative booklets to support families in their literacy journey.
