Enjoy an afternoon out in the sun at Lake Claremont with the Town's newest event, An Afternoon at Lake Claremont on Saturday 9 May.

This free community event will feature eco activities and live entertainment, culminating in a performance of Djinda Kaatijin (to understand stars), which is a collection of short Dreaming stories from various countries around the world presented by the Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company.

With craft activities from the Eco Action Team, an opportunity to safely see the sun up close with the Perth Observatory and a guided walk around the Lake with Friends of Lake Claremont, there's something for everyone.

There will also be live music from Charlie Youngson, plus a Q&A with performers from the Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company.

Bring a picnic and enjoy a beverage from Kafe Go Go or Tee Box Café.

An Afternoon at Lake Claremont marks the end of the month-long WA Tree Festival Program, which the Town was part of for the first time.

"This event is a way for the community to enjoy a full program of activities in our beautiful Lake Claremont environment," Mayor Peter Telford said.

An Afternoon at Lake Claremont is on Saturday 9 May from 3:30pm - 5:30pm at Lake Claremont.

This is a free event which the entire family can enjoy.
