The Town of Claremont invites nominations from interested community members for a two-year term expiring in October 2027 for the below Committees of Council.
The role of a Committee Member is to attend quarterly meetings and participate in making recommendations to Council.
Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee
The Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC) is responsible for advising Council on matters relating to external audits, internal statutory reviews and audits, compliance and risk management.
The Town is seeking nominations for one (1) Independent Presiding Member and one (1) Independent Deputy Presiding Member to be appointed to the ARIC. The role of the presiding member is to facilitate and chair meetings of the Committee. Independent Members of the ARIC are entitled to receive a meeting attendance fee.
Nominees shall:
- have current qualifications and/or demonstrate experience relevant to one or more of the following:
- Financial management
- Audit and assurance
- Governance, compliance
- Risk Management
- Fraud, cyber security, internal controls
- Not have been subject to bankruptcy or insolvency proceedings under the Bankruptcy Act 1966 (Cth).
- Not have been convicted of a serious local government offence; or convicted of a criminal offence for which the indictable penalty was or included imprisonment for more than 5-years.
- Demonstrate knowledge and or experience in working in or with Local Government (desirable).
- Have demonstrated leadership, facilitation and communication skills (desirable).
Advisory Committees
Council has established Advisory Committees to provide recommendations to Council on specific areas. The Town is seeking nominations for the following committees:
Claremont Town Centre Advisory Committee |
Up to 5 Claremont Town Centre Business Representatives |
Foreshore Advisory Committee |
Up to 3 Community Representatives |
Lake Claremont Advisory Committee |
Up to 2 Community Representatives |
Membership to Advisory Committees is on a voluntary basis.
