The Town of Claremont is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified people to undertake the role of Deputy of the Presiding Member for the Town of Claremont Audit Risk and Improvement Committee.
About the Role
The Deputy of the Presiding Member is not a regular member of the Audit Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC), only attending meetings as needed. The Deputy of the Presiding Member acts in the role of the Presiding Member when that Member is unavailable, assuming all responsibilities of the Presiding Member for the relevant meeting(s), including chairing meetings and overseeing the conduct of ARIC business.
Candidates cannot be a Council Member of a local government or an employee of the Town of Claremont.
Term of Appointment
The term of appointment for the Deputy of the Presiding Member expires on 16 October 2027.
Essential Criteria
Candidates expressing an interest as the Deputy of the Presiding Member must have current qualifications and/or be able to demonstrate extensive senior-level experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Financial management
- Audit and assurance
- Governance and compliance
- Risk management
- Fraud, cyber security and internal controls
