A Day on the Bay 2026

A Day on the Bay is a family-friendly event set against the beautiful backdrop of the Claremont Foreshore.

There'll be all sorts of fun activities taking place on the day including:

• Swan Boats
• Food vendors
• Mermaid and pirate meet and greet 
• Claremont Museum 
• Search for a Star live audition
• Sustainability stalls

This is a reusable, friendly event, thanks to support from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions’ Plastic Free Riverpark program

A selection of food & beverage vendors will be serving up delicious treats on the day:

• The Fire Truck Pizzeria 
• Hoki Bao Taiwanese Street Food

Help reduce waste and support a cleaner river environment by:

• Choosing reusable food and drink containers when purchasing from vendors and returning items after use to the Go2Cup waste collection station.
• Bringing your own water bottle and enjoying free water refills throughout the event.

Water-based activities:

• Have a ride on a swan boat
• Meet a river mermaid and local river pirates

Land-based activities: 

• Claremont Museum open all day 
• Angela Rossen - Learn about the flora and fauna of the Swan River 
• The Joy of Wood - Learn the skill of woodwork

• Create your own Eco Flowers

Do Your Part for the River:

We encourage you to:

• Participate in the Do Your Part campaign. Bring a reusable item (water bottle, coffee cup), stop by the WMRC stall and get a reward with a delicious treat.
• Purchase something from a food vendor served in a reusable container, then return the reusable items to the Go2cup waste station.
• Participate in the Keep Australia Beautiful 2-minute challenge and test how much litter you can collect.
• Connect with our amazing sustainability stalls and learn one new way you can protect the Swan River

By doing these things, you can help reduce waste, prevent litter from entering local waterways and contribute to a cleaner, healthier Swan Canning River.

Accessibility: 

• Ramp from Museum to lower area, Mrs Herbert's Park 
• Toilet block that includes an accessible toilet with a baby change table 

Parking: 

• Limited parking is available at Mrs Herbert's Park. We recommend the following for parking here and walking to the event: 
  • College Park | 8 minutes
  • Bay View Community Centre | 12 minutes 
  • Freshwater Bay Primary School | 12 minutes 
• Nearby bus stops along Victoria Avenue, stop number 17669 and 17672
• Bike racks are available on top of the hill near the Museum carpark 

Dogs:

Social dogs are welcome. All dogs within the event area must be on a lead at all times.
