Claremont Museum

 

Claremont Museum collects and preserves items associated with the district, including oral histories and photographs. The facility provides researchers with information on Claremont's history and the education program for schools is designed to fit the curriculum. Located on the picturesque Freshwater Bay, Claremont Museum is a premier facility to hold Claremont's storied past and treasures.

Current Exhibitions 

The Museum will be holding two new exhibitions as part of the reopening to share treasures and tales of Claremont's Past

Ten Stories 

Look at the tale behind 10 interesting items chosen from the museums extensive collection. From old MLC uniforms to a statue from the old Sunflower Chinese restaurant that must stay in Claremont, these unique stories are not to be missed. You also have the opporutnity to share your own favouriute Claremont story and add to the rich history of the Town. Opening 17th February 

Streets of Claremont

"What's in a name?" that's the question we try to answer in our Streets of Claremont Exhibition. This exhibition will be held in the new Freshwater gallery and will take you you on a deep dive through our archives to help find the story behind your street. Closing 23 June 2022.
