The Town of Claremont prides itself on developing and fostering art and culture within its local community. The ability to express and celebrate our creativity, identity and history is an integral part of our cultural identity. It is one of the reasons Claremont remains a sought after place to live, work and visit.
Now in its third year, ARTTRA Light Festival transforms Claremont Park into a spectacular outdoor gallery, featuring bespoke artworks by established and emerging WA artists. ARTTRA is a biennial event on the Town's event calendar.

Public art is an integral element of the Town’s vision for Claremont’s cultural identity. As such the Town has committed 1 per cent of the total project cost of new or renovated buildings to public art. It has also encouraged private developers to contribute to the installation of public art via its Town planning process. The installation of two new public art works in the revitalized Avion Way in the Claremont Town Centre is an example of the Town’s ongoing commitment.
Initiatives such as FORM and LandCorp’s The Goods Shed project provide our community with a usable multi-purpose space. Located behind the Station Masters House in Claremont, the heritage railway building has been transformed into a creative space used for exhibitions, installations and commissions; for artist and thinker residencies; for community activity and exchange.
