Capital Works

The Capital Works Program has been developed to meet anticipated community infrastructure needs and the future development of the Town to align with the strategic plan, driven by population growth, requirements of the community and asset management. These works include footpath replacement, traffic management treatments and road re-sheeting works among other minor capital works.

Melvista Avenue Footpath Reconstruction

The Town would like to advise that the footpath reconstruction project on the south side of Melvista Avenue – between Bay Road and Parker Road is scheduled to commence on Tuesday 13 December 2022.

Road Rehabilitation Project 2022-23 - Melville Street (Loch Street to Gugeri Street)

The Town would like to advise that the programmed road resurfacing project for the above location is scheduled to commence on Monday 12 December 2022. The goal is to complete the works before Friday 23 December 2022, weather and contractor availability permitting.

Footpath reconstructions works — Freshwater Parade (west side)

The Town would like to advise that the footpath reconstruction project on the west side of Freshwater Parade (Stirling Highway to Victoria Avenue), is scheduled to commence on Monday 5 December 2022. Tree pruning along Bay View Terrace and St Quentin Avenue

The Town would like to advise the street trees in the CBD along both Bay View Terrace and St Quentin Avenue are having formative pruning undertaken between 6pm and 9pm on Monday 28 November 2022. Our contractors will be working at heights and using woodchipper and pole saw machinery in the area and will need to close off many of the carpark spaces to ensure the safety of our operators and ensure no damage to parked and travelling vehicles.

Footpath reconstruction – Bernard Street (north side)

The Town would like to advise that the footpath reconstruction project on the north side of Bernard Street (cul-de-sac to Goldsworthy Road), is scheduled to commence on Monday 21 November 2022. The goal is to complete the major works by Friday 2 December 2022, weather and contractor availability permitting.

Christmas Decorations Installation 2022 - Swanbourne and Claremont

Please be advised that the Town of Claremont will be installing Christmas decorations at the Swanbourne Shopping Precinct overnight of Sunday 13 November, and Claremont Town Centre overnight of Monday 14 November 2022. Noting some laneways within the Town Centre will also have decorations installed, with works planned to be undertaken on both above-mentioned days. The lights will then be dismantled on the night of Monday 9 January 2023. Please view letter below for more information.

The Town would like to advise that the footpath reconstruction project on the west side of John Street (between Stirling Highway and Bernard Street), is scheduled to commence on Monday 14 November 2022. Footpath and road resurfacing works — Lapsley Road

The Town would like to advise that the footpath on the north side of Lapsley Road and the road surface from Elliott Road to Davies Road are to be renewed as part of the Council approved Capital Works program 2022/23. Works are scheduled to occur from 7 — 25 November 2022, weather and contractor availability permitting. Please view letter below for more information.

Please note: Lapsley Road will be closed throughout the works. Residents in Elliott Road are requested to utilise Henshaw Lane to access and egress Elliott Road. Please view letter below for more information.

Road Rehabilitation — Myera Street - Alfred Road to cul-de-sac - ON HOLD Until Further notice 

Scheduled works for Myera Street were due to commence on 7 February, however due to a shortage and unavailability of materials and contractor labour this project has been put on hold. Once determined, the Town will be rescheduling the project to restart accordingly and will update residents once the new completion dates are known. Please view letter below for more information.
