The Town of Claremont is calling for submissions for its 2026 Youth Photography Competition where young creatives are encouraged to get behind the lens and capture something 'Close to Home'.

The competition is open to all young creatives aged between 12-18 years old who reside in and/or go to school in select local government boundaries.

Entrants must live in or attend school in one of the following local government boundaries: Town of Claremont, Town of Cambridge, Town of Cottesloe, Town of Mosman Park, City of Nedlands, Shire of Peppermint Grove and City of Subiaco.

There are cash prizes on offer across a range of categories, with the judges basing their decisions on originality, image quality and how well the photo reflects the theme.

Mayor Peter Telford said initiatives like this are important for youth engagement within the Town.

"Competitions like this are a great way for young creatives to show us their skills and expertise behind a camera," Mayor Telford said.

"I'm looking forward to seeing the different ways people choose to interpret and showcase the theme."

Entries open 9am Monday 16 March 2026 and close 5pm Friday 10 April 2026.
