The Town of Claremont and Bindaring Clothing Sale are thrilled to be partnering up to deliver an exciting new Youth Fashion Mentorship for young people living in the Western Suburbs. Successful candidates will gain money can’t buy experience, with the opportunity to learn and be inspired by industry leaders in free workshops and talks with fashion experts, as well as a rare look behind the scenes. Mentees will also receive hands on support to create their own garment to go in the running to win cash prizes and the opportunity to showcase their finished design.

The series of workshops will be held on Sunday afternoons at the Bay View Community Centre between April to June 2026. Followed by access to an open sewing room with textile support during June and July. Final garment submissions and prizes will be awarded in August. A minimum of 30% of the final garment will need to be recycled material.

This initiative is proudly supported by Hawaiian and industry partner Claremont Quarter.

To APPLY please send your cover letter to artaward@claremont.wa.gov.au telling us a little bit about yourself and why you would like to be involved (Max 2pgs) along with any pictures of your textile/fashion creations (Max 5). Images are not essential.

Expressions of Interest are open from 2 March - 23 March 2026.
