Essential maintenance works (replacing pool liners and tiles) require the pool to be empty. The facility will therefore be closed as follows:
- Pool closed from Thursday 1 July
- Pool reopening date Monday 6 September (weather permitting)
This includes replacing the liners of the 25 and 50 metre pools, and the tiles on the head walls. To undertake these works, both pools will need to be fully emptied, and to minimise disruption to users these works have been programmed for the quieter winter months. The Town will use this closure opportunity to assume other minor repairs and improvements to the facility.
“We understand this will cause inconvenience to varying degrees, however we look forward to reopening with an even better community facility in early September” said Mayor Jock Barker.
“As a council we are proud to continue to invest in our community facilities for Claremont residents and visitors. The Claremont Aquatic Centre, has undergone some wonderful upgrades in the last couple of years, with the splash pad in 2019 and the change room upgrade this year ” said Mayor Barker.
