Claremont Park will be the perfect setting for romance this season with two events; an outdoor concert by Perth Symphony Orchestra and an outdoor cinema, as part of Town of Claremont’s Love is all around Claremon
Mayor Jock Barker said the park was a fantastic venue for events held in the evenings of the summer months.
“Being surrounded by all the beautiful trees and under the stars makes it feel very special,” Mayor Barker said. “What better way to spoil your valentine!”
The first event on Friday 10 February 2018 is a free outdoor concert by the Perth Symphony Orchestra Touring Ensemble conducted by Jessica Gethin.
“The Perth Symphony Orchestra always put on a fantastic show and I’m sure they won’t disappoint at this concert,” Mayor Barker said. “Our community will be able to enjoy popular songs by Ed Sheeran, INXS and Robbie Williams in our beautiful park.”
The second installation of the event, the outdoor cinema will take place on 9, 10 and 11 March 2018 when a large screen will be setup in the park for three nights of romantic movies.
Mayor Jock Barker said the outdoor cinema would commence with the romantic comedy, Love Actually on Friday evening.
“Families will be able to enjoy Beauty and the Beast on the big screen on Saturday night and Sunday will have the age-old classic of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice,” Mayor Barker said.
Guests are welcome to bring their own seats and picnics to these free community events, a range of food options will also be available to purchase.
Events will start at 6pm. Support act commences at 6:30pm with Perth Symphony Orchestra’s first set starting at 7:30pm. Movies will commence upon dark at 7:30pm.
