Location: Claremont Museum
Contact: 9285 4300
Time:01 Sep 2022 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Join us for a morning of discovery as TRACE Archaeology dig into the importance of archaeology, and how it influences our understanding of place.

The Claremont Museum, its surrounds and its archaeological heritage are listed on the state Register of Heritage Places. This means any ground disturbance must be monitored by a qualified archaeologist.

Over the two weeks that the former Education Shed was being demolished and the foundations of the new Freshwater Gallery were being created, Trace Archaeology was on site every day collecting and recording anything unearthed.

Come learn more about what they found, and why archaeology is important for understanding our history.

This is a free event however bookings are essential. Morning tea will be provided.
