Claremont is a leafy suburb with attractive parks and gardens, which provide a relaxed atmosphere for residents and visitors.

The Town of Claremont offers the following parks:

Please note that dogs must be kept on a leash at all times, unless otherwise specified.

Mrs Herberts Park

Mrs Herberts Park

  • Located at the river end of Bay Road (behind Claremont Museum)
  • Offers the following facilities
    • Toilets
    • Play equipment
    • Picnic tables
    • BBQs
    • Carpark
  • Is a Dog Exercise Area (dogs may be let off the lead but must be under control)
  • Can be hired for functions

Rowe Park

Rowe Park

  • Located on Stevens Street (between Reserve Street and Langsford Street)
  • Offers the following facilities

  • Can be hired for functions

Claremont Park

Claremont Park

  • Located on Bay View Terrace (between Princess Road and Stirling Highway)
  • Offers the following facilities
    • Toilets (at Claremont Library – accessible only whilst Library is open)
    • Play equipment
    • Seating
    • Carpark
  • Is a Dog Exercise Area (dogs may be let off the lead but must be under control)
  • Can be hired for functions
    • Security Lighting 

MacLagan Park

  • Located at the corner of Mitford and Devon Streets
  • Offers the following facilities
    • Play equipment
  • Is a Dog Exercise Area (dogs may be let off the lead but must be under control)
  • Can be hired for functions

John Mulder Park

  • Located on Davies Road (between Lapsley Road and Lakeway)
  • Offers the following facilities
    • Play equipment
    • Picnic tables
    • BBQ’s
    • Carpark

Stirling Road/The Cedus Park

Stirling Road/ The Cedus Park

  • Located at the northern end of Stirling Road
  • Offers the following facilities
    • Play equipment
    • Carpark
    • Access to Lake Claremont and aquatic birdlife
    • Pathway to Bird Observation Platform
  • Can be hired for functions

Alex Prior Park

Alex Prior Park

  • Located at the river end of Chester Road
  • Is a Dog Exercise Area (dogs may be let off the lead but must be under control)
  • Can be hired for functions

Cresswell Park

Cresswell Park

Cresswell Park is the home ground for the Claremont/Nedlands Cricket Club (summer season) and the Westside Wolves Hockey Club (winter season)

  • Located off Cornwall Street
  • Offers the following facilities
    • Playing Fields
    • Playground Equipment
    • Access to Lake Claremont
  • Is a Dog Exercise Area (dogs may be let off the lead but must be under control)
  • Can be hired for functions

PARKS TO HIRE

A number of the Town’s parks can be hired for functions:

Conditions of Hire

  • A fee of $550 (incl. GST) applies for the use of a park for the first 50 guests, with an additional $4.40 per person thereafter.
  • A bond must be deposited at the Council office seven days prior to the event.
    • $500 – non alcohol functions
    • $1000 – alcohol functions
  • All areas must be cleaned after the function
  • Restrictions apply, such as noise, parking, and consumption of alcohol.
